I LOVE SEWING: NECESER DIY

La máxima de esta semana es que voy a aprender a coser bien. Desde chica siempre fui de coser de todo, hasta tenia mi propia maquina, pero nunca lo hice con técnica y la mitad de la veces lo hacia de forma desprolija porque nunca me tome el tiempo de aprender bien. Con un poco de tiempo entre manos que tengo ahora, decidí tomar clases de costura. Estrictamente de cómo usar bien una maquina de coser. No solo me parece super entretenido, pero un excelente complemento a mi reciente formación en moda.

En el primer día de clases, hicimos un neceser super simpático y soy feliz de lo mucho que avance en solo 2 horas de clases. Ahora que recibí mi maquina nueva (mi Singer Florencia se quedo en Buenos Aires L), tengo una lista de cosas por coser que comienza con un set de fundas de almohadones decorativos. Para las que ya la tienen bastante clara, el estudio donde fui tiene un blog super bueno lleno de ideas DIY, visítenlo si están en busca de inspiración (LoveSewing)

Las mantengo al tanto de las manualidades a ver si inspiro a alguna!

Color Scheme Me

Estos días me tiene bastante ocupada un pequeño proyectito, pero muy divertido, de ambientación. A la hora de trabajar con color, siempre encuentro muy útil una herramienta llamada “Color Scheme Designer”. Es una fuente simple de inspiración a la hora de buscar paletas de colores. Compenetrada en mi paleta de azules y colores marinos para este proyectito, decidí que hoy tenia ganas de usar naranja, así que… por que no usar el programa para conseguir una paleta para completar el look?

I found this piece hiding in a drawer. I got it a while ago in Argentina, but never had the change to use. This is one of those pieces that pop up any simple outfit, like this long and black sweater. No need to add anything else to the look. Sometimes, less is more.

I’ve got this pair of shoes a couple of weeks ago and was kind of waiting for the good weather. They scream summer!!!!! I combined them with a Jeans look from head to toes, not to distract their attention.

When the Lack of Choice Wasn’t so Bad At All

I attended the same school since I was 9 years old until I graduated at 18. This means I was wearing the same uniform from Monday to Friday for 9 years. I didn’t know what thinking of an outfit every single morning really was. My main concern would just be to choose in between 7 equal white shirts and 3 identical skirts. Me alone, could spot the differences between them; still it mattered to choose the “right” one.

Life was easy back then…

After 8 years; 2920 mornings, I could only wish I had a single uniform waiting by my bed to rapidly get out and still look fine.

What could be best than watching a “Sex and City” marathon on a NYC, winter and exhausted Friday night?

Couldn’t help to get obsessed, yes… all over again, with most of the “Carrie Looks”. That effortless chic look she has over and over again; the mix and matching of textures, patterns and elements that somehow always turnout to look great; the colors; the labels; the exhausted hills: everything looks cool and fabulous only in Carrie’s world.
